Pastoral Care

Homeroom Program

The Homeroom Program at NFLS BCA

At Nanjing Foreign Language School British Columbia Academy (NFLS BCA), the Homeroom Program plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being, discipline, and academic success of our students. Each student is assigned a dedicated homeroom teacher who serves as their primary point of contact for pastoral care, support, and communication.

Homeroom teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive and supportive environment, helping students navigate both academic and personal challenges. They supervise their students during morning registration and weekly meetings, where important announcements are made, and any concerns are addressed. Homeroom teachers also play a key role in communicating with subject teachers and the management team, ensuring that students’ needs are met across all areas.

In addition to supporting students academically, homeroom teachers handle attendance, approve planned absences, and liaise with parents to keep them informed about their child’s progress. They are instrumental in fostering a safe and respectful school environment, where students feel supported and are encouraged to excel.

At NFLS BCA, our homeroom teachers are integral to creating a nurturing, disciplined, and caring environment that helps students thrive both academically and personally.
